Ingredients

  • 400gm U.S. Russet Potatoes (cut into cubes)
  • 50gm Potato Starch
  • 100gm Cheddar Cheese (cut into cubes)
  • 20gm Salt

+

Sweet Sambal sauce

  • 70gm Mayonnaise
  • 30gm Sambal paste
  • 5ml Lime Juice
  • 2gm Coriander (Chopped)

Preparation

  1. Prepare a medium size bowl. Add the mayonnaise, sambal paste, lime juice and chopped coriander. Mix all the ingredients together.
  2. Preheat the medium size stock pot and add water to boil. Add the U.S. potato cubes and cook for at least 15 minutes. Drain the excess water and transfer it into a mixing bowl.
  3. Mash the U.S. potato cubes before adding the potato flour, salt and pepper. Shape the potato mixture into a round shape and mould it together with the cheddar cheese cube.
  4. Preheat a medium size nonstick pan with cooking oil. Fill up at least half of the pan. Once the oil is hot (180°C), slowly add the U.S. Potato Takoyaki and cook them for at least 4 minutes or till they turn golden brown. Put them aside and drain the excess oil.
  5. Transfer onto a serving plate and serve together with sweet sambal sauce. Sprinkle and garnish with chicken floss.
